Musings by Mindy

Mindy Sevinor

Dear friends and colleagues,

Since last March, so much has changed. For many of us, one of the silver linings of the pandemic has been the opportunity to build stronger relationships during these times — with our family and friends, but especially with our homes. Over the past year, they’ve become a refuge. They represent a protected haven to live and work. I hope that your home has been filled with laughter and new memories.

Here at Designer Bath, we’ve embraced change and want to continue to help your efforts to create new positive moments within your home. With that goal in mind, we’re excited to expand our vendor offerings to include Franke, Artelinea, and more of the Graff product line in both showrooms.

If you’re interested in learning what we love about these vendors, I invite you to make an appointment to visit one of our showrooms. If you’d prefer to view the displays from the comfort of your own home, I suggest looking into our 360-degree virtual showroom tours. Some of the designers who have contributed to our monthly blog have enjoyed exploring our space virtually — I’m sure you will too!

I’m so happy to put together this spring edition of Musings by Mindy to bring some inspiration into your home. Every time you wake up and spend your mornings in your redesigned kitchen and/or bathroom(s), you’ll have a greater sense of appreciation for the special touches and how the details have the power to bring you joy. Stay safe and stay healthy!

All my best,

New in the Showroom

Franke kitchen sink

Vendor: Franke

Franke offers more than kitchen sinks — they offer fantastic accessories that will help your kitchen become more than just the place you eat. Your kitchen will transform into a meeting room for your family to share what they’ve accomplished that day. With price brackets that fit any budget, your ordinary kitchen will shine as a multi-functional wheelhouse. Franke is a well-known name in the kitchen industry with a tremendous reputation for quality, and in my opinion, creativity.

Vendor: Artelinea

Artelinea is an innovative bathroom furnishings brand that incorporates Italian style into their glass furniture and lighted mirrors. With centuries of glassworking under their belt, the company stays on the cutting edge of glass finishes, including colored, fluted, printed, and textured glass options. It’s the go-to brand for high-quality, customizable pieces that you and your clients will fall in love with and will influence the individual style of every home.

Graff MOD+ faucet

Graff Expansion

We’re thrilled to expand Graff’s footprint in both of our showrooms. Graff is a family-owned business and they are unlike many other faucet vendors. They are a true manufacturer, while many faucet vendors are assemblers. Starting with raw brass stock, Graff crafts its products from start to finish. In addition to innovative designs, they have an expansive selection of unique specialty finishes.

The MOD+ series has a great configurator that allows you to put your unique mark on each faucet. You have the ability to customize the spout shape, cover finish, clip finish, and body finish. You’ll definitely have the most unique faucet on the block!

A Note From Jason

Hello everyone,

Walk on the wild side print ad featuring woman walking a crocodile

Have you seen the new Designer Bath ad in New England Home Magazine, Boston Home Magazine, and/or Northshore Home Magazine?

Happy March! The official first day of spring is only a few weeks away and I’m excited to spend more time outside with family and friends. I am especially looking forward to ‘springing ahead’ on March 14th so we can enjoy some extra sunlight at the end of the day.

One of our favorite holidays is just around the corner: St. Patrick’s Day! As everyone knows, this special day celebrating Irish heritage uses green as its signature color. For us, being green means making an effort to be kind to the environment. We try to do this every day, however, March 17 gives us an extra reason to go green! We are glad to share some water-saving tips. According to the EPA, by replacing an old, inefficient toilet, the average household can reduce toilet water usage by 20 to 60 percent. Believe it or not, that will result in a savings of about $110 per year on water costs and $2,200 over the lifetime of the toilet. Contact us today to learn more about how replacing your toilet can be the perfect spring renovation project and an ideal way to embrace “being green.”

Here’s the backstory on the development of our new print ad (shown above). Designer Bath takes pride in its leadership role in the industry. Part of being an innovator is being creative, thinking outside the box, and pushing the boundaries. We’ve had fun with our new print campaign – check out the animated version of our print ad.

Now without further ado, we are thrilled to announce this month’s blogger: Paige Lewin of Tess & Ted. After spending two decades in public relations, Paige leaped to a new form of creative expression when she opened Tess & Ted Interiors in 2014. Self-taught, Paige blends modern and classic design and is influenced heavily by her love of textiles, her New England upbringing, and her time living and working in Manhattan. Paige and her team work with clients wherever they are on the interior design spectrum — from DIY consultations to down-to-the-studs of home renovations. She believes everyone deserves a beautiful, comfortable home that accommodates all the chaos of real life, and works closely with her clients to create just that.

Best,

Paige Lewin's Showroom Favorites March 2021

When it comes to kitchen and bath, I always look for fixtures that feel amazing to the touch, deliver high style, and provide strong value for the cost. My five showroom favorites fit the bill perfectly:

BLANCO DIAMOND UNDERMOUNT SINK IN ANTHRACITE

This sink is one of my go-to pieces. Made of a granite composite, it’s easy to clean and gentle on fragile dishes. I love using the Anthracite colorway. How often do you see a black kitchen sink?

BRIZO SOLNA IN MATTE BLACK

While a stunning faucet can steal the show in a kitchen, sometimes function is sacrificed for beauty. Not so with the Solna. The articulating arm and ergonomic spout deliver the function, and the design is visually on point. If you worry about chicken hands, it’s also available in a touchless model.

STONE FOREST VERGE BATH SINK

I’ll be honest…vessel sinks aren’t my favorite, but the Stone Forest Verge Sink had me at hello. The stone is stunning, feels like silk, and will never go out of style. Add the brass console legs and just, WOW.

CALIFORNIA FAUCETS TO-PBL TRIM IN POLISHED CHROME

The cross handle of this California Faucets pressure balance trim feels so smooth in your hand and turns like a dream. The clean, modern design stands well on its own, and can be paired with quieter tilework in the shower.

MTI JULIET 2

Have you ever been in a tub that could double as a piece of furniture? The Juliet is so comfortable that if it were in my house, my kids might find me in it wrapped in a blanket taking a nap. One end provides a cozy “hug” around the shoulders, while the opposite end is a bit more upright and wider, making it the perfect tub regardless of your soaking style.
