A Note From Jason

Hi everyone,

April Showers Bring May Flowers!

April Showers Bring May Flowers!

As we celebrate the beginning of spring, we finally have the opportunity to embrace the warm New England weather and get some much needed fresh air. Let’s enjoy the outdoors and soak in some sun — especially after such a long winter cooped up inside. With the arrival of April comes spring showers — both outside and inside your home! Now is the perfect time to invest in a new showerhead or luxurious outdoor shower. And with Mother’s Day just around the corner, I believe there’s no better way to show your appreciation for Mom than by helping her transform her bathroom into a relaxing, functional haven.

If you decide to revitalize your bathroom – you might want to know more about the different types of showerheads available:

  • Fixed showerhead (wall mount) – Found in most family bathrooms. For those who are interested in solid water pressure, this is the showerhead for you.
  • Hand-held showerhead – Great for bathing pets, kids and those who may need to sit on a bench when rinsing.
  • Dual showerhead system – Combination of a hand-held showerhead and a fixed showerhead.
  • Rain showerheads – (larger in size – six inches or wider in diameter) – The wider the water spray, the warmer you feel while showering, thus enhancing the overall experience. The water in large flat rainheads is usually delivered via a gravity propulsion method, so it may not be the best option for those people with a lot of hair to wash and rinse.
  • Filtered showerhead – I have learned that these can help with dry or frizzy hair by greatly reducing the amount of chlorine, scale, and hard water.

With the warmer weather, I am always reminded of my goal of having an outdoor shower. In a subtle way, I plant the seed by mentioning to my wife that having this extra outdoor area will alleviate the challenge of limited indoor bathroom space. It’s good to have dreams!

Without further ado, we’re thrilled to introduce April’s guest blogger: Atsu Gunther of Atsu Gunther Design LLC. We had the pleasure of welcoming Atsu to our showroom to pick her favorites for this month’s blog. Originally from Japan, Atsu moved to the United States to pursue her college education in Interior Design. Upon graduation, she started her career in Boston with legendary interior designer William Hodgins. After 16 years working for several talented interior designs and architecture firms in both Boston and New York City, Atsu opened her own interior design studio in 2014. Recently, Atsu was featured in Boston Magazine for her renovation of this Cambridge Victorian. We are so happy to share her favorite pieces from our showroom.

Wishing you a safe and healthy April.

The marble Calma bathtub from Stone Forest is truly a work of art. It immediately caught my eye upon entering the Designer Bath showroom. This is the statement piece that your bathroom craves.

HOUSE OF ROHL SHAWS CLASSIC SHAKER SINGLE BOWL FARMHOUSE APRON FRONT FIRECLAY KITCHEN SINK

Farmhouse sinks are a classic — they’re often my go-to when designing kitchens. The Shaws apron front fireclay piece from House of Rohl elevates its surroundings, creating the perfect harmony between traditional and modern.

JULIEN SOCIALCORNER® UNDERMOUNT WITH APRON FRONT STAINLESS STEEL KITCHEN SINK

This stainless steel JULIEN sink is special in so many ways, but especially because it is the only sink available on the market that fits into a corner. It provides the perfect solution for small footprint kitchens. It’s unique, very practical, and well-made.

INFINITY DRAIN

I personally dislike having a visible drain in the shower. That’s why I’m in love with the Infinity Drain. Along with its excellent craftsmanship, it also makes the shower look neat and tidy.

STONE FOREST ELEMENTAL TROUGH SINK WITH CALIFORNIA FAUCETS VESSEL LAVATORY FAUCET

Just by touching this faucet by California Faucets, you can tell that this is a high-quality design. I’m absolutely drawn to its beautiful brass finish.

The Stone Forest sink is the perfect pairing for the faucet as it boasts solid, natural stone. The marriage of materials creates a luxurious masterpiece for your bathroom.
