A Note From Jason

We were delighted to welcome Samuel Heath to our Watertown Showroom in May for a tea tasting event where we got to hear more about their beautiful designs and legacy.

Hi everyone!

How are you doing? We are embracing the “new normal,” which means being more social and making good decisions about ways to stay safe and healthy. I am glad to report that our business is back to planning festive functions for our friends in the design/build industry. In May, we were thrilled to host an English Tea with British fixture manufacturer, Samuel Heath. It’s been almost two centuries since Samuel Heath’s first machines began to turn in the heart of England — which means they certainly are experts at their craft.

As you all know, we are a third-generation family company. My sister Mindy is responsible for curating brands — she focuses on style, price, and availability. Our goal is to offer choices in a range of price points and looks that go from traditional to transitional to contemporary. For the past two years, Mindy has focused on ensuring that we can access the lines we carry and deliver them in a timely manner to our customers. She brought in Samuel Heath because it is a special brand with an emphasis on quality and customer service. At Designer Bath, these are some of our core values as well. With these shared priorities, it became clear that Samuel Heath was a good match for our showrooms and our customers. When you visit our showrooms, you may notice that we have smaller boutique options mixed in with the well-known brands. Many high-quality fixture companies do not spend a lot marketing to homeowners so the names are not familiar to you. Trust us! Mindy does extensive research and often spends years getting to know a manufacturer before inviting them to partner with us.

A note for the month of June:

  • We will not be holding our annual Yard Sale on Father’s Day Weekend. We have enjoyed so much success with our “ONLINE SALE!” tab on our designerbath.com website that we don’t have much excess inventory.

Lastly, we’re excited to introduce you to our June guest blogger, Elena Reinhardt. Elena is a Senior Interior Designer and Studio Leader at Helios Design Group, a full service architecture and interior design studio based in Boston, MA and Denver, CO. Elena has a degree in Interior Architecture from Endicott College and a wide range of experience in high end residential design, hospitality design, and corporate design. She loves mixing traditional architecture with contemporary furnishings and art and being able to discover and express her client’s design style that best represents them.

All the best,

CROSSWATER, FORMOS GRANDE BATHTUB

The Crosswater, Formos Grande Bathtub is such a timeless piece. The shape is simplistic with clean curves and a thin profile which allows maximum space for a comfortable bathing experience. It pairs perfectly with the Crosswater Heir Floor Mount Thermostatic Tub Filler, but can also be combined with a traditional fixture for a totally different look.

CROSSWATER, HEIR FLOOR-MOUNT THERMOSTATIC TUB FILLER WITH  HANDSHOWER

Crosswater has a beautiful brushed brass finish that will stand out in any bathroom. Their Heir Floor-Mount Thermostatic Tub Filler with Handshower is a stunning sculptural piece. Its structural form and minimal design would make a sleek and practical addition to any bathtub.

TANNERS CRAFT, 6″ CC 10 OA PULL

A lot of people overlook handles and knobs, but they can have such a beautiful impact on design. I love the Tanners Craft, 6” CC 10 OA Pull because there are so many Edelman leathers to choose from that a client can really let their personality show with whichever leather and metal finish they select. These are perfect for a closet or library where you have some low-touch areas and act as a piece of jewelry for the room.

LACAVA, DIMINI CONSOLE STAND

The Lacava Dimini Console stand is a wonderful statement piece for a bath or powder room. I was attracted to the contrast of the black matte legs and sleek white porcelain sink. The horizontal bar is a great space for your favorite hand towels.

GRAFF, HARLEY LAVATORY FAUCET

I was immediately struck by the beautiful finish of this faucet in the Designer Bath Showroom. I saw it in a brushed onyx finish and could tell it was so well-crafted and machined. It has a beautiful ribbed detail on the handle that adds a layer of texture. You can tell that every aspect of the fixture was considered, making it such a well-designed piece.
