We’ve entered the time of year that brings one of my favorite ‘S’ words (other than ‘summer’). ‘Tis the season to have a ‘S-A-L-E.’ I’m of course talking about our annual showroom sale that begins in a couple of weeks.

On the topic of showroom ‘must-haves,’ I’m thrilled to introduce our June guest blogger, Juan Guillermo Uribe Rubio, a principal at Pauli & Uribe Architects, LLC. Juan and his partner, Monika Zofia Pauli, combine their knowledge of classical forms and modern design to create integrated, high-end designs for their clients. In his spare time (we weren’t aware that busy architects had any!), Juan is an avid fly fisherman, former equestrian and ardent lover of Formula One open wheel racing. CROSSWATER ARCADE BICYCLE

This whimsical piece would be a fun addition to a restaurant or office space. It will put a smile on anyone who uses it! The basket can be dressed up with handsome colourful flowers. This is certainly a piece that may draw people and create much needed conversation in this time and age.

PERRIN AND ROWE VICTORIAN TOILET

Love the soft closing high gloss seat and cover. It has a charming, classic and timeless look that makes any of our projects historically correct and appropriate. The tank has a stylized panel on it which enhances a traditional bathroom. No need to hide this one!

STONE FOREST RENAISSANCE CONSOLE

A handsome and elegant fixture frequently used in our high end residential projects – light, sculptural and elegant. The carved stone edges contain water from dripping, add a functional touch and make it a fashionable fixture. The veins of the marble are alive, adding another classic and timeless layer to a room. A practical geometry that does not obscure the elegance of the architecture – whether in your Master Bath Room with beautiful monogrammed hand towels draping from the middle bar, or in your Powder Room, with monogrammed paper towels on the counter in a handsome tray.

NATIVE TRAILS CANTINA BAR SINK

A handsome classic finish in hammered polished nickel enhances the geometry of this sink. P&U uses a fair number of these sinks in our Bar and Kitchen projects. A piece like this makes a statement and adds texture and movement to one of the simplest objects. An added bonus – it’s easy to maintain and clean!

DORNBRACHT TARA SINGLE HOLE MIXER

The simple, traditional streamlined cross handles are amongst my favourite classic and timeless design details. These give it a traditional English look, reminiscent of the old manors in the lush English countryside…. The proportions are flawless and offer a handsome scale. The colour and finish are romantic; it’s evocative of Cartier’s ‘Trinity’ ring. I am very much inspired to incorporate this finish in an upcoming project.

Happy May, everyone!

I think it’s safe to say that it’s officially, FINALLY spring (and almost summer) in New England. A new season is the perfect time to experiment with new styles, especially in your home, and this month’s feature is all about that.

Last week, we had a full house at our ‘Sip and Learn’ event with Northshore Home magazine focused on bath and kitchen trends. Hosted at our Beverly showroom, the lively panel chat was moderated by Editor, Nancy Berry, and featured a group of design experts sharing their perspectives on ‘must-haves’ for your house. Some takeaways? The farmhouse sink is here for the long haul, people can’t get enough of grey-toned kitchens, steam showers are hotter than hot (literally and figuratively), marble and slate are popular accents for bathrooms… and the list goes on. As is the case with all Designer Bath events, the ‘paparazzi’ were present – take a peek at some photos from the night here.

Also on the topic of fads and crazes, my sister, our Showroom Brand Manager, Mindy Sevinor, and I recently attended the Salone del Mobile trade show in Milan, Italy to scope out the newest of the new. We are still daydreaming about all of the ‘wow!’ pieces we saw, and are eager to share our experience with all of you. Without further ado, I’m passing the May torch to Mindy, our featured guest blogger for this month. GRAFF AMETIS SHOWER SYSTEM

I love everything about Graff and was enthralled by the cutting-edge pieces we saw in Italy. Their aesthetic is so different from many of the shower systems we typically see. The company is a true manufacturer; it’s a family-owned brand, with their factory in Poland, and primary U.S. office in Milwaukee. The showerheads are art forms – distinctive and full of character – which isn’t surprising given that Graff is familiar with fashion and haute couture. The brand has collaborated with designer, Davide Oppizzi on the Ametis line. View Davide’s collection video here

GRAFF SENTO FAUCET

The Sento collection is synonymous with ‘sleek.’ These single-hole options are available in an endless array of finishes, something that was very surprising for us to see at a European trade show. Historically, the most popular finish in European countries has been Polished Chrome. It was refreshing to view this Graff faucet in variations of brass, black, gunmetal and white. I love the handle proportions of this faucet, as well as the knurling detail that was incorporated into some of the finishes.

GRAFF LUNA SHOWERHEAD

Keeping with the Graff theme (we just couldn’t get enough!), the Luna series was definitely one of my favorites. The pieces are exciting, fresh and innovative with their clean geometry and unique flair. Everything is elongated and statement-making.

GRAFF LUNA FAUCET

Yes – if you can believe it – this really is a faucet! This wall-mount fixture will instantly elevate any powder room and make it the coolest one on the block. This piece does the talking with its exaggerated, dramatic curve; it evokes a contemporary spa-like feel with the way the water pours down in a soothing way.

THG PARIS COLLECTION

I couldn’t choose one piece, that’s how much I loved THG’s new offerings. Traditionally known for making faucets seen on luxury yachts, the brand is growing their line by adding more transitional series with clean refinement. The THG products we saw at Salone del Mobile, in addition to the Baccarat and Lalique collaborations we’re used to seeing, reflected an elegant transitional look. The displays featured a mix of finishes, stone accents, hand-tooled detailing and knurling. THG has been a family-owned company since 1956, and we were privileged enough to meet the owners at the show.

Hello all,

I hope everyone enjoyed the holidays last weekend. The Red Sox are in training and the NBA Playoffs are around the corner. In other words, the calendar says it’s officially April – maybe Mother Nature will catch up soon.

Our Designer Bath and Salem Plumbing Supply team kicked off spring with two events at our Watertown showroom.

At a recent Lunch & Learn workshop, we welcomed a representative (traveling all the way from Chicago) from The Galley to teach our guests about the brand’s functional workstations. If you haven’t yet experienced The Galley, it’s on display in both of our showrooms. We’d love to introduce you to this kitchen game-changer.

The second engaging session we hosted was a panel discussion (moderated by yours truly) in partnership with IFDA-New England. We invited our industry colleagues in for a pow-wow and talked about our feelings – literally. Led by a licensed clinical social worker, the chat centered around the complexity of relationships between clients and designers, and inspired great Q & A interaction from the audience.

I’m thrilled to introduce our April guest blogger, Tiffany LeBlanc. Tiffany, the principal of luxury residential design firm, LeBlanc Design, creates dynamic spaces inspired by her many exotic travels. Follow along below as she shares her favorite pieces from our showroom, virtually concepting a ‘dream bathroom’ that’s brimming with form and function.

STONE FOREST EGG TUB

I love the simplicity of this tub’s shape along with its graceful, organic composition. I appreciate that every Stone Forest piece is individual – no two tubs are the same and each one tells its own story. The carrara marble has a very natural, effortless feel to it. An elevated surface material like this gives you a classical vibe while still being cutting-edge and contemporary.

THE FURNITURE GUILD WINSTON DOUBLE VANITY

My favorite thing about this piece is its seamless blend of modern and timeless design. I could see this vanity being used in a master bathroom with a double sink and a grand statement tub. The lacquer finish is fresh, transitional and would look beautiful with the above Stone Forest tub. This vanity, with just a hint of the industrial metal look, transports an entire bathroom’s aesthetic into an edgy pocket of design. There’s been an interest lately in this type of juxtaposition, especially in regards to bathroom furniture.

TRACY GLOVER TRUMPET SCONCES

When it comes to finding the perfect lighting for a bathroom, there are many glass sconces to choose from. Tracy Glover’s collection contains stunning options that are hand-blown for a crafted, authentic look. This piece would mix well into a bathroom that contains matte or monochrome finishes. The right sconces can really soften the design of a bathroom and make it less predictable while giving you dimension and texture. Imagine taking a late night bubble bath with these accents providing mood lighting to set the ambiance and tone of the space.

THG BELUGA FAUCET

This faucet is undeniably beautiful. It’s very well-done and has that ‘wow’ factor without being too obvious. Faucetry truly has become the ‘jewelry’ in a bathroom; it’s your opportunity to add flair and embellishment in a cohesive way. Faucets are also the elements that people touch every day, so for that fixture to be a beautiful, refined piece that feels good to the hand is key. This is where people are most likely to truly perceive the quality of a bathroom.

VOGUE TOWEL WARMER

In a room where you’re bathing, you want everything to feel like a calming oasis full of subtle little luxuries. There’s something about having heated towels, not only for the practical function, but also for the pampering. It’s like being greeted by a warm embrace when you get out of the tub or shower. A heated towel waiting for you really becomes an experience in itself. A piece like this furthers a tangible design, allowing you to appreciate how you engage with décor and aesthetic.

ELECTRIC MIRROR FUSION LIGHTED MIRROR

This backlit mirror – perfect for makeup application – would go well with the Tracy Glover sconces above. Just because you have sconces in your bathroom, there’s still always the need for a mirror that provides additional lighting. This piece can be layered in with decorative lighting accents to achieve functional, artisan-quality illumination.

Hello again, everyone!

I hope your March is off to a great start! I’m ready to ditch the coats and chilly temps for sandals and sunny days.

As much as I appreciated the unseasonably warm days we enjoyed last month, I value my Designer Bath colleagues even more.

We recently celebrated our hardworking, talented team at an Employee Appreciation night. The evening’s festivities, which took place at The Cabot Cinema in Beverly, were a wonderful way to recognize the dedication and enthusiasm of our staff. We pride ourselves on providing you with the highest level of service and expertise, and we wouldn’t be able to do that without an exceptional showroom team. Morale and team spirit were high and the jokes (perhaps a few at my expense) were plentiful. Thank you to our employees who joined us for a fun night.

I’m thrilled to introduce our March guest blogger, Nick Schiffer, the founder and owner of NS Builders, a construction and carpentry firm in Boston. JULIEN SOCIAL CORNER SINK

This was my first time ever seeing this sink and I thought it was a really interesting approach to a small kitchen. It really allows you to make the most of your counter area. This piece allows you to maximize space by inviting people to stand on both sides and congregate around it. It really lives up to its name.

DORNBRACHT SINGLE-LEVER KITCHEN FAUCET

Most kitchen faucets have a very similar style of water gushing, and it’s often loud. This one is very quiet and unique in the way that it aerates water. It’s designed to not splash back as much when you’re washing the dishes due to the water flow and pressure being less aggressive. That particular feature makes this piece feel more luxurious and elevated, two qualities that have become synonymous with the Dornbracht brand.

BLANCO DIAMOND ANTHRACITE UNDERMOUNT SINK

Traditionally, we’ve seen a lot of stainless or fireclay materials when it comes to undermount sink styles. I’m finding that people are starting to trend towards a funkier look with their fixtures, especially in the kitchen. The graphite composition of this piece is savvy and allows you to go beyond typical aesthetics.

LINKASINK COCO SMOOTH BRASS SINK

I admit it – I have a thing for brass. We use a lot of it in many of our projects and I never get sick of it. The powder room in a house tends to be smaller in size, but it’s still a very frequented space. Quite often, you spend a lot on your powder room because all of your guests use it and it has a lot of functionality. You want to make an impression in that room. Linkasink’s collection is full of eccentric and practical pieces. The beauty of this sink is that it’s going to patina and change over time from exposure to soaps and oils. This piece tells a gradual story in your guest bathroom as it ages.

THG PARIS O COLLECTION

Prior to my showroom visit, I wasn’t familiar with this brand and I was fascinated to learn that a majority of their pieces are most commonly found on luxury yachts. The style is a seamless blend of nautical and contemporary, transitioning nicely from sea to land. You don’t often see such an attractive chain-link style. This collection has a classic look to it, courtesy of the polished chrome and nickel finishes, and makes a statement from an optical standpoint.

Greetings all,

Happy February, aka the month when the Patriots will hopefully bring another championship title back to New England! As our favorite football team is gearing up for Super Bowl weekend, our own team over here at Designer Bath and Salem Plumbing Supply has been enjoying a non-stop start to 2018.

Last month, we hosted our annual fun and educational ‘What’s On Tap’ event at our Beverly showroom for our partners in the design and construction industry. The night featured product demonstrations from top industry brands, included raffle prizes, and welcomed special guests, Peter and Desi Souhleris, the stars of A&E’s ‘Flipping Boston’ and BuildDesignLive.com’s ‘Bragging Rights.’ Photos from the event can be viewed on our Facebook page.

I’m excited to share two recent press clips with everyone. The first, a ‘New In The Showrooms’ piece in New England Home, highlights the Crosswater Arcade Bicycle Basin. This whimsical, innovative sink is on display at our Watertown location – come on by and check it out! The second, a feature in Design New England, focuses on bath and kitchen accessories repurposed as jewelry. We were thrilled to provide the stunning products for these publications.

The good news doesn’t stop there. Our team was honored to be recognized as ‘Family Business of the Year’ by the Greater Beverly Chamber of Commerce. We can’t wait to celebrate with Chamber members, fellow winners and nominees at the 7^th Annual Family Business Awards next week.

I’ve been in the architecture and construction industries since I was a child; my father used to take me to job sites when I was five years old and I would empty trash barrels, get tools for the guys from their trucks, etc. My love for residential design and construction grew from there and I am proud to be designing homes myself, 30 years later. I have learned a lot about how to design a bath and kitchen over the years, mostly through making mistakes. Always an exciting challenge, these rooms are the most expensive and challenging spaces to design as an architect, and having quality fixtures specified for these areas makes a world of difference. Baths and kitchens deserve rigorous thought and attention to detail to make each one “work.” Having the new and amazing Designer Bath showroom in Watertown has made it so easy to work with the team, who are always glad to assist in the process of creating their dream spaces.

DORNBRACHT TARA PROFI SINGLE-LEVER FAUCET

This is the only imported brand that I selected. This faucet almost looks like it belongs in a commercial kitchen rather than a residential one. It’s such a simple, well-proportioned piece that has a timeless quality – it’s never going to be the flashiest faucet, but it’s functional and the lines and structure are phenomenal. Dornbracht has that industrial simplicity as a brand – the pieces are well-engineered, will work forever and you can see the German craftsmanship in the solid brass composition. It’s the BMW of faucet manufacturers.

MTI BATHS ANDREA 12 SERIES SCULPTED TUB

It’s always a challenge to find a good tub and this one really impressed me. The jets are set in the bottom of the tub instead of on the sides which is great when you are relaxing the day away, especially after a long workout. Another great feature is that the side jets create a river-like effect by breaking the surface tension of the water. This creates a nice sound and ambiance, allowing you to close your eyes and imagine yourself sitting in a natural hot spring.

ELECTRIC MIRROR MOMENTUM LIGHTED MIRROR

Electric Mirror has been working with light-emitting diodes in their mirrors for years and they are noticeably ahead of the competition in that regard. This piece is sleek and the LED integration is superior to anything that I have seen in the past few years. Having great lighting in the bathroom is such an important part of designing a good space and it can sometimes be overlooked. I have one of these mirrors in my home and I highly recommend it.

SONNEMAN LIGHTING STIX COLLECTION CHANDELIER

This light is really a combination of appearing industrial while also channeling a warm and inviting vibe. I love the sleek and sexy geometry of this chandelier; it’s modular in nature, so you can get other pieces and add onto it to create a lot of different designs. This piece is a nice evolution of some other lighting options that we’ve seen in the past.

STEAMIST SHOWERSENSE COLLECTION BILATERAL STEAM HEAD

Relaxation is the ultimate luxury, and a steam shower after a long day at work is one of the best things to look forward to during a gray New England winter. Steam showers can now be controlled via WiFi, and I love that you can turn one on with your phone – while you’re picking up the kids or running errands – and have it be ready when you get home. This piece really fits into that ‘smart home’ trend and is very practical and user-friendly. The slim bilateral head caught my eye because it’s a simple evolution of the steam head that effortlessly blends into a tile background.

Happy New Year, everyone!

It’s hard to believe that 2018 is indeed here already. As our team looks back fondly on what was a nonstop, milestone year for Designer Bath and Salem Plumbing Supply, we are filled with gratitude.

2017 brought the debut of our Watertown showroom with a Grand Opening party as well as a fun and festive Community Open House. We look forward to continuing to share this dynamic space and all it has to offer with you. During the past year, we had the privilege of winning several accolades, including ‘Best of the North Shore’ and ‘Best of’ Boston Home honors. Thank you to everyone for your continued support of our business; it means more than we can say.

NATIVE TRAILS REDONDO GRANDE BAR SINK

I am immediately drawn to this fixture. It’s something that I’ve specified on past projects to add interest and texture to spaces that otherwise may get overlooked, like a wet bar or a butler’s pantry. I love that the hammered copper adds a bit of shimmer and appreciate that it’s an artisan-crafted piece; there’s a great added benefit of using products that are individually unique.

ROHL MICHAEL BERMAN GRACELINE U-SPOUT LAVATORY FAUCET

This U-shaped spout is an updated classic and a bit more elevated than some other fixtures of its kind on the market. I also particularly love the more masculine, industrial details featured on the tip of the spout and levers.

PALMER SINK LEGS STUDIO CONSOLE

I’ve specified Palmer sink bases numerous times and was thrilled to highlight this product. These particular bases offer a lot of versatility. They’re great for powder rooms where you don’t need a ton of storage – it feels more interesting and lends itself to a more spacious look without having a heavy cabinetry appearance.

FURNITURE GUILD TURINO WALL-MOUNTED VANITY

This was a new product line for me to be introduced to, and I was excited to learn more about the fixtures and finishes they offer. A wall-mounted vanity is always a bit more unexpected. It’s also a great option for a kid’s bathroom, as it allows for a foot stool to be tucked underneath and concealed out of the way.

ATLAS HOMEWARES CAMPAIGN BAR PULL

We know brass is in and it’s probably not going away anytime soon. It’s a handsome pull and the exposed screw detail is a nice embellishment. This striking accessory can be universally-used on any millwork, vanity or storage piece.

SIGMA WIDESPREAD LAVATORY FAUCET WITH STELLA LEVERS

We do so many faucets over and over in client projects, they all start to look the same. I absolutely love the beautiful little etched lines on the spout and handles. These are really thoughtful details in the piece. It’s transitional but classy at the same time.

HANSGROHE AXOR MONTREUX LAVATORY FAUCET

I’m working on a lot of farmhouse projects right now and this product really caught my eye. It’s a bit of an anomaly in the collection by this modern vendor. It’s a nice clean farmhouse aesthetic without being too vintage in tone. The handles have a crisp, industrial feel to them.

PURIFICARE OUTDOOR FREESTANDING SHOWER

I’m obsessed with this piece. I’ve been wanting to use it and have never had the opportunity. It’s so well-designed — it’s very modern but can also blend in with a landscape. I’m dying to use it on an exterior application.

INFINITY DRAIN TILE DRAIN STRAINER

I think drains are one of the most overlooked items that don’t get specified in a project, and often only basic ones show up. It’s nice when we can be deliberate about drain selection. This is a thoughtfully-executed way of adding a modern detail and incorporating tile.

ROHL PERRIN & ROWE CONTEMPORARY BRIDGE KITCHEN FAUCET WITH SIDESPRAY

Bridge faucets have always been trendy to use in kitchens. There are typically very traditional options on the market or more recently, modern ones. This one does a nice job of being transitional in a very handsome way. It has really lovely detailing and isn’t overly industrial or classic.

Greetings all and happy November! Hard to believe that Thanksgiving is just around the corner.

Our team at Designer Bath and Salem Plumbing Supply has so much to be grateful for and we’re still basking in the excitement of our Watertown showroom debut. Just last month, we hosted a Community Open House to meet the neighbors and settle into our new home. Local families toured the new space while enjoying music from MAGIC 106.7 and face painting and balloon animals for the kiddos. We also were thrilled to have members of the Watertown-Belmont Chamber with us to officially cut the ribbon and graciously welcome us to the area.

We are very excited to introduce Kelly Rogers, of Kelly Rogers Interiors, as our featured guest blogger for November’s ‘Showroom Favorites.’ Our staff recently collaborated with Kelly and Dianne Aucello of Edesia Kitchen & Bath Studio on the Junior League of Boston Designer Show House and we’re excited to be teaming up again. CROSSWATER BELGRAVIA EXPOSED THERMOSTATIC SYSTEM WITH HANDSHOWER ON SLIDER BAR

Sure, this exposed shower system is drop-dead gorgeous. But I also love how user-friendly it is. Everything is so clear – from the numbers on the temperature control to the ‘on/off’ arrows printed on the levers. A great guest bath solution – your visitors won’t have to ask for help just to turn on the shower! And the hand shower is so great to have for rinsing off dirty dogs, or showering little humans who are over bathing in the tub, but not quite ready to fly solo in the shower.

ROHL LOMBARDIA WIDESPREAD LAVATORY FAUCET

Rohl’s Lombardia collection is inspired by the history and terrain of the Italian Alps. This faucet would work beautifully in a traditional or modern bathroom design, bringing a bit of Art Deco elegance to the table. I love the trim, tubular levers, and the generous height and reach of the spout. I tend to favor faucets with a higher spout, as I find they are a bit easier on the back, as well as much better for kids. Plus, they tend to look graceful and elegant — a win-win!

LISA JARVIS HARDWARE: THE SOPHISTICATED CHILD

This juvenile cabinet hardware line is just pure fun! These little brass doggies could transform a cookie-cutter bathroom vanity (or bedroom/playroom furniture) into a child’s favorite thing in the house. And maybe even get potty-trainers more excited about bathroom breaks!? Decorative hardware is a fantastic way to get a look appropriate for, and beloved by kids, since it (unlike that vanity) is a cinch to replace down the road when a more mature look is desired.

Greetings all,

Happy October! I know I may be a little biased, but this month is definitely one of my favorites in New England. Both foliage and football are in season, and the temperature is just right. Between leaf peeping in Vermont, taking in a Pats game at Gillette or stocking up on Halloween candy and costumes, there’s no shortage of autumn activities and festivities during October.

Please join our showroom team at our new Watertown digs for a Community Open House on Saturday, October 21st. The event, lasting 10 AM to 2 PM at 604 Pleasant Street, will feature complimentary snacks, music and prizes from MAGIC 106.7 (10 AM to noon), as well as face-painting and balloon animals for the kids. We’re still pinching ourselves over last month’s amazing Watertown Grand Opening bash, and it was so wonderful to celebrate with friends and family. Now, it’s time to cut the ribbon, mingle with the neighbors and make this thing official. We hope to see you there!

When it comes to Trick-or-Treat, we’ll always choose ‘treat’ and we were given just that recently courtesy of Northshore Home magazine. The publication released its always-anticipated ‘Best of the North Shore’ issue and we were thrilled and honored to be among the winners once again. I’ve been in the interior design business for over twenty years, and while I design and redesign all areas of a home, bathroom design has always been my favorite. With all of the fabulous fixtures and materials to select, it’s always an exciting challenge to create unique, beautiful and functional spaces. So, when I entered the new Designer Bath showroom in Watertown recently to select my showroom favorites, my senses were on overload! Every nook and cranny brought more temptations and allure. In my quest to select five favorite items, I could have chosen five hundred!

ROBERN M SERIES MEDICINE CABINET

I have been specifying these beautiful Robern medicine cabinets for many years, but with the introduction of these sleek, integrated LED side lights, function and aesthetics have totally intersected. With cutting-edge styling, mirrored interiors and options such as electric outlets, night lights and mirror defoggers (to name a few), these cabinets offer phenomenal storage and function. Flanked by attractive and effective InLine task lighting, these Robern cabinets are a SURE THING for most bathrooms!

FURNITURE GUILD CORRADO VANITY

I just love the look of a spa-inspired white or light grey bathroom that’s highlighted with rich furniture-quality pieces. As such, I am drawn to the clean lined, contemporary aesthetic of this Furniture Guild vanity. Statement-strong and functional to boot, it’s fabulous to have drawers for storage as well as an open space to stack or roll towels. Available in many wood stains and finishes, its look is flexible for so many different styles of bathrooms. And, I love that it is raised off of the floor! A sure winner.

DORNBRACHT TARA ULTRA FAUCET

Tara, Tara, Tara – you’ve always been my favorite of the Dornbracht clan. Your beautiful
gooseneck has been found in many of the bathrooms that I’ve designed over the years. And to use you in the kitchen – a total home run! The sculptural gooseneck, which swivels a full 360 degrees, is enhanced by the handsome pull-out spray. What could be more attractive AND functional for a fabulous kitchen?!

MTI BATHS JULIET 2 FREESTANDING TUB

For those of you who (really) know me, you might have heard me talk about how much I love taking my daily, luxurious baths. So, it’s not at all surprising that I was immediately attracted to the gorgeous Juliet 2 freestanding tub! Is it a tub or is it a sculpture? Its shape is divine, and the engineered solid stone is silky to the touch. I just couldn’t imagine a better focal point for any gorgeous, spa-like master bathroom. (Or, for my bathroom – Designer Bath, send one over, please!)

We are starting to get a hint of that refreshing chill in the evenings as we savor the final taste of summer. Fall is just around the corner and as the seasons change, we feel the time is ripe for new beginnings. Designer Bath & Salem Plumbing Supply recently started a new chapter with the official opening of our Watertown showroom.

Months in the making, this second showroom location is truly a labor of love and we’re looking forward to welcoming family, friends, clients and colleagues into our new space. The Watertown showroom has been carefully laid out to offer an inspiring sensory experience. Everywhere you look, there are rooms and walls full of fixtures and accessories for the kitchen and bath in thoughtfully-curated displays. One of our favorite novelty pieces (and an inevitable conversation starter) is the Crosswater bicycle sink basin that greets guests as they enter. Yes, it’s a sink on wheels – come check it out; we promise you’ll be delighted!

BRIZO LITZE FAUCET

I love the sleek design of this faucet. It really speaks to a mechanical environment, and the lines are a tasteful balance of industrial and elegant.

MTI BATHS JULIET FREESTANDING TUB

The organic shape really resonates with me; it’s feminine without being too stark and minimal. The lines are sensual, warm and sculptural. You’d be very happy to look at this piece every day.

AXOR THERMOSTATIC SHOWER PIPE

This shower system has so much personality. I would definitely use this in a kid’s bathroom. It reminded me a bit of the Tin Man. I love the funnel shape and the layout of where the handles are; it has a bit of whimsy and takes design to the next level.

STONE FOREST URBAN MULTICOLORED ONYX VESSEL

A vessel bowl made of Onyx is simply spectacular. It’s all about Mother Nature embedding this stone with amazing veins and character. Here’s a piece that you’re happy to embrace and use regularly. It’s a show piece.

STEAMIST ELECTRONIC SHOWER SYSTEM AND STEAM GENERATOR

We’ve used steam systems in projects and all of our clients, mostly men, are excited by them. This gives men their luxury spa moment. We love that the technology features a touch-screen and the control panel can be programmed from your iPad or iPhone in the house. It belongs in a Man Cave right next to a home gym.
